Over the next year, we are focused on strengthening and expanding our current Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to meet workforce and community needs. Our long-term vision is to create a robust network of CTE programs that provide increasing numbers of people opportunities to gain valuable technical skills, industry-recognized credentials, and a stronger connection to local employment opportunities. By aligning education with workforce needs, we aim to empower our community through skill development, economic opportunity, and second-chance career pathways.

Saint Paul's Leadership Institute is currently engaged in a pilot program with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC). The courses are designed to provides non-violent probationers from the Brunswick Community Corrections Alternative Program (CCAP) with foundational skill training to become Electrical and HVAC Helpers. Both certifications are credentialed through the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations (DEPOR).

“The VADOC and St. Paul's Leadership Institute have a mutual goal of providing workforce training for CCAP residents. As non-violent probationers, participants will be reentering the community and will benefit from meaningful and practical pathways to employment after release. The need for workforce and employment training among CCAP residents is high, and the local community's need for skilled workers is also high. Post release employment of individuals after incarceration is strongly tied to reduced criminal behavior. The services provided by Saint Paul's will not only provide individuals the opportunity to change their lives and the lives of their families but will also assist local economies with trained skilled workers and make communities safer.”
